Biscotto Pordenone®

Introduction and History
Ingredients Research and Artisanal Production
BiscottoPordenone® is a typical sweet of Pordenone, created and produced by Pasticceria Gelateria Montereale, with the trade mark registered at the Chamber of Commerce. It is made with ingredients that recall the tastes and traditions of our Province and the first known recipe dates back to the early 1940s.
BiscottoPordenone® was born from the idea to propose to the province's capital city a dessert that can be identified with the local history and customs.

that recall the
Pordenone tradition
In 2004 it was recognized as a typical product of Friuli by Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with the decree of July 22.

An accurate historical overview has highlighted elements, ingredients and raw materials that once belonged to our origins and are now a part of the BiscottoPordenone® authenticity.

The main components are wheat flour and corn flour that recall the old mills of Pordenone, sugar and raw almonds that were transported from Portus Naonis in abundance and butter, egg yolks, natural aromas and yeast.
To these we add some grappa to give a nice crumbly texture and fragrance to the product and together with raw salt, which references the ancient Styrian salt route that used to end in Portus Naonis. BiscottoPordenone® remains completely handmade. From the raw materials selected to the dough preparation and the individual hand forming of many small biscuits. BiscottoPordenone® is a real 'homemade' cookie.
