Biscotto Pordenone®

Festivals and Events
So not simply a cookie, but a small delicacy that Montereale presents to the world of gastronomy in all its combinations; there were many opportunities to taste it, first of all the exhibition 'Assaggi d'Artista' (Artist Tastings), promoted by BiscottoPordenone® that took all the spotlight. Important artists from Pordenone were invited to interpret BiscottoPordenone® though their art.
At the end of each evening Biscotto, tasted with enogastronomic pairings from the territory had conquered the stage.

In 2007, BiscottoPordenone® published Il talento di Andrea: an illustrated story that tells
how a young man discovers his sweet passion.
It is a tale with a not granted plot, divided into episodes, in which the dialogue and descriptions alternate with balance and come alive with the illustrator’s decisive work. The undoubted originality, however, is the choice of co-star: Anacleto, aka Dog. During a flow of events from his perspective, this unusual character appears to guide the reader by hand to a 'sweet' invention: the biscuit. As with a whodunit, scattered clues are brought together. Clues such as grappa, flour and almonds play their part in the story. Dog helps us discover Andrea, the young and imaginative creator of a product, which, although simple in its composition, and perhaps because of its simplicity, he feels it should be (re)discovered and appreciated. But it would be too simple to think of Il Talento di Andrea as just a story of poor nourishment. In the story you should gather feelings and moods that characterize interpersonal relationships. So maybe this simple food, the result of dedication, research and, above all, passion can give flavour to every day life.
Being able to listen to what your passion says and to do what you feel is the only thing you were born to do is truly a miracle. Each to his own field: there are those who create with brushes and colours - like Paul Cossi with his original drawings for the book - there are those who create with musical notes and those who, like Andrea, compose with flour and almonds.
So, following their inviting scent, let’s enter into the pasticceria, perhaps with a book under our arm. Yes, because the project which makes up the base of the story we’ve just read does just that: it combines writing with taste, the imagination of mixing characters, situations, words and pictures among the fantasy of who does it with a thousand flavours and secret ancient recipes. The result is a story that smells of almonds and a biscuit, which is reflected in a story. Now you just have to taste it.
